Outfit Post: Cheater Cheater

Sweater: INC. Blazer: Target. Jeans: AG. Shoes: Tsubo. Necklaces: Maurices. Broach: Shopko.

When and Where: Tuesday, February 8, 2011 to work and visit a new baby.

What number am I on? When will this end? I don't know about this 30 for 30 Challenge?!  I prepared myself well, with a list of, well over 30 outfits, drawings, my Stylebook app and such. Perhaps I didn't want to believe it's still winter and 30 degrees out? Or maybe I just thought I wanted to wear those black pants you see because they're new? I don't know. But I've swapped out another item in my 30. I was supposed to wear the sweater with the skinny pants and shoes, and add a blazer for good measure. But I really hated it and I just couldn't do the so-called nude trouser socks with the skinny pants. Plus, I think the pants with the sweater are too tight for work. I need to wear a looser top or a long cardigan over them if I wear them to work.

On a happy note, I am extremely pleased with the outfit I came up with - even if I do look just like my mom - who happens to own the very same sweater and blazer and similar shoes!

  2. I think it came out really cute! I gotta say your Mom has to be pretty stylish imo. I still love the idea of a 30/30 if you need to reconnect to your wardrobe - but sometimes I find it silly to limit yourself. Especially when you want to wear certain things! (trying to convince myself of this very thing with my tendency to hoard and "save"). I really love that particular leopard print. It's dark and edgy looking.

  5. Soooo chic! I love this one! You made the right choice in changing out the pants.

I would have an extremely hard time planning out outfits for a month, or even a week. I dress and pick out the colors I am going to wear that day, according to my mood. I am still not sure if the 30 thing promotes or limits creativity. But then again, what works great for some may not work so good for other's.

  7. You can't give up yet. Not if you put all the planning into your outfits! This outfit is a good one. The professional blazer with the fun leopard is a nice paring.

  10. I feel like I've been pretty creative already, so I don't wan to wear just a top and jeans for an outfit. The 30 doesn't give me enough layering options unless I wear the same things again and again within days of each other. I don't like to do that.

  11. My mom has always been pretty stylish. In the 80s she was at the top of her game wearing the latest fashions and then she just kept evolving with the trends. I think it's something we have always had in common. Probably because she taught me!

  13. I always wonder about fashion bloggers and their "roots"... My mom, for example, always had her own distinct style. She's more into boho-Native American styles - which feels like the exact opposite of much of what I wear.

  14. Exactly! You allready are extremely creative with your wardrobe! You remix quite often. That's why I was saying I wonder if the 30\30 really promotes or limits creativity, especially in the case of someone who is allready an extremely creative remixer imo. lol! I guess I am just trying to understand the point of it. I would love to hear your thoughts at the end of the 30 days to tell us what you have learned.:)
